Sinuous cables carve sand dune-like formations into this poncho's simple rectangular shape. Slipped stitches at the beginning of every row create a self-finished edge--just add buttons and you are done. As a bonus, the openings formed in the broad cables act as buttonholes so you do not have to make any when you are knitting.
The poncho is designed to be worn with the buttons on the left shoulder but you can wear it numerous ways. Try arranging your poncho with the buttons in the front or undo the buttons and wear it as a shawl or wrapped around your neck as a scarf. By using attractive backing buttons, you'll even find that the poncho can be reversible.
