A slip stitch pattern in two colors creates a swirl pattern as it alternates with garter stitch sections. Decreases shape the crown while maintaining the pattern. A long tail is threaded through the final stitches to close the top of the hat. Instructions for the swirl stitch pattern are written and charted. The pattern is written for the hat to fit just below the ears, 1920s cloche style (should I have named it the Ronald Charleston?).
